Happy birthday to Carl Barks (27 March 1901–25 August 2000), the Duck Man, a cartoonist revered by other cartoonists.

Barks (a great name for a man who excelled at drawing animals) drew Disney comic books, and is considered one of the best visual storytellers ever to essay the medium.  He invented Scrooge McDuck and the whole life that surrounded Donald Duck (with the exception of Daisy and the nephews).  Will Eisner called him “the Hans Christian Andersen of comic books.”

Careful where you plant your butt.
